A cheat meal - Yes, BUT not a WHOLE DAY !

We ALL do it every so often, eat for pleasure rather than necessity - however in society today some people do it more often than others!

BUT those that schedule certain days or even meals around it, this is specifically known as a Cheat Day or Cheat Meal !

Cheat Days/Meals can be so beneficial - It can give us a psychological break from the stress associated with following a strict diet, and this little lapse can in fact keep us more motivated to jump straight back into our healthy eating lifestyle straight after our "cheat".

Another aspect of a Cheat Day/Meal can actually be to give our metabolisms a kick up the backside - this generally goes for those who are on a strict strict caloric eating plan. Being on a such a strict diet can lead to our metabolism slowing down - the reason it slows down is to accomodate less calories (if so be careful of your rebound - you’ll hear fitness models / bodybuilders talking about “rebounds” after shows - some do it completely wrong, managed correctly a rebound can be so advantageous) .

SO - having a cheat meal/day will literally "shock" our system and essentially crank our metabolism up a gear or 2 to deal with this extra intake of calories. In essence this can help in burning body fat a little easier - as when you jump straight onto your strict diet again you'll be burning more calories as our body is working at a higher metabolic rate.

Let's face it - we deserve it, after a hard week or 2 of training - a cheat meal or 2 is most definitely on the cards!

PS - I DO NOT BELIEVE IN “CHEAT DAYS” , a meal YES, but not a whole day !!!!!!!!
