Get Strong - FAST !

Ian Young

Getting to a good level of strength can take a bit of time, you don’t accidentally just get strong - BUT we do have the ability to gain strength quite quickly with the right approach.

The right training environment is pretty essential, to be surrounded by people who inspire you to push that little bit harder, to feel motivated when that emotion takes a dip, to keep you accountable and focused. On top of that I would say even more so the correct diet, supplementation, sleep and hydration are KEY areas which need to be in check!

For me everything comes back to discipline, and being consistent with that!

You need to have a programme to follow, a structure in place that keeps you on the right track, you need to track everything in this programme, weight, sets, reps - you need to know the numbers, what you did last set, last workout, and from there you can progress each time in the gym.

I’ve said previously there are many forms of progressive overload, the obvious being extra weight added, but reps, sets, rest, tempo etc can all be viewed as different forms of progressive overload and should be looked at if at any point you stall on “adding weight”, as should other areas in your lifestyle.

As I said at the start we don’t accidentally get strong, well unless you’re farmer strong - then you’re just STRONG!

If your goal is to get stronger be more methodical in your approach - key areas being diet, sleep, hydration, supplementation, and programming ALL require consistent focus and discipline.

Drop me a message if you’ve any queries / questions about your programming or strength gains, or lack of them !
