Shift work - and 8 hours sleep !

I had a zoom meeting scheduled in this afternoon with a team member wanting to push a little harder with an aim to improving overall fitness and conditioning, and to see positive changes in their body composition.

In these calls we go through quite a lot, basically dissect current lifestyle habits and strip everything back to identify if certain areas could be improved on.

Sleep is and has a MASSIVE impact on our lives, and lack of sleep will undoubtably have a negative impact on it.

One point covered, and this might resonate with a lot of people, was shift work.

People who have irregular sleep patterns will often feel exhausted, EVEN if they are getting 8 hours of sleep. This is because your circadian rhythm is out, leaving your body in a constant state of fatigue. I know some people can't change this due to work patterns, but if you do have the freedom, make sure you sleep at the same time every day!

(Your Circadian rhythm is the 24-hour internal clock in our brain that regulates cycles of alertness and sleepiness by responding to light changes in our environment).

Everyday is a school day!
